Body Hair Transplants - Information

Okay, I found some of the following information and rewrote it so it wasn't copied. It wasn't easy! There's like nothing else on the Internet about this!!! And I'm not a writer!

Hair loss is not limited to the scalp alone. In fact, hair loss can occur just about anywhere on the body where hair can grow. There are many individuals who have sought treatment for patchy or absent beard, chest or eyebrow hair. While some may simply seek treatment for cosmetic purposes, others are looking to treat the effects of hair loss which have resulted from certain conditions.

Hair loss on the body can occur for several reasons, including the following: physical trauma like a car accident or thermal, chemical or electrical burns; systemic or local disease; excessive plucking; trichotillomania (TTM), or self-inflicted obsessive pulling of the hair; medical or surgical treatments like radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or the surgical removal of a tumor. Certain causes of hair loss like systemic or local disease or TTM must be successfully treated before undergoing hair transplantation. Scar tissue resulting from trauma, burns or surgery may first require reconstructive surgery.

Hair transplantation has successfully been used to treat body hair loss. Hair from certain areas of the body can be transplanted to balding areas of the body like the chest, beard area or eyebrow area. This procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis, and postoperative complications are usually limited to minor pain and swelling.

For this procedure, grafts of hair are harvested from a donor area on the body and then placed into incisions along the bald site. The use of micrografts or single hairs will typically allow for a more natural appearance.

Make sure that when you look more into this you find a good, qualified surgeon. That makes all the difference in the world. I had done some serious research, and since there was so little about body and chest hair transplants specifically, I ended up researching everything I could about transplanting hair to the head. Well, I figured it had to be about the same thing right?

I found the best... he's considered one of the top three in the world. Oh, by the way, his name is Dr. Jeffrey Epstein! (Can't forget that!) And he's one of only thirty guys in the IAHRS, he's in the IHSRS, he's a facial plastic surgeon too, and he's just amazing. You should take a closer look at some of this work. Here's a link to his face and body hair transplant photo galleries.
